Tomorrow (Thursday, June 12th), we will have a full moon at about 11:13 PM Central Time. This is a great time to think about all the things you want to release. It can be a way of thinking, a situation, person or old pattern—anything. Just make a list and sit with it while being mindfully willing to release it. You can add your own touches that make it special to you–incense, drumming, etc.
Each month I do group meditations on the full moon for releasing and on the new moon for creating and manifesting. We do a variety of grounding and visualization exercises then we go in turn to each person and hold a space for that person to release the things on the list. For about two minutes, the entire group focuses their attention on that person, sending positive energy, love and light, with the intention of supporting them in their releases and for their highest and best good. It is a very powerful process and we all come away feeling lighter and energized.
Honoring the moon phases is a great way to become more aware of what you want in your life and what you don’t and focus your energy on making it happen.
Here are some sample release statements to consider. Of course, the more specific to your situation, the better.
- I release my need for approval.
- I release my need to feel responsible for others.
- I release my attachment to outcomes (situations, relationships, etc.).
- I release my need to be right.
- I release my need to be heard and validated by others.
- I release my fear of making a mistake and looking foolish.
- I release my fear and belief that I can’t have what I want.
- I release (NAME) to his/her own path.
- I release my shame of/for…
- I release my guilt for…
There are so many ways you ca go with this. Trust that if you think of it, there is a reason and put it on the list. It’s all about awareness. Once you are clear on what you really want, it is a whole lot easier to make choices that move you toward getting it!
I’ve added a page to my website that has the dates and times for seasons and moon phases for 2014 and 2015. Bookmark it so you can refer back and start your own mindful process of releasing and creating.
